TRYOUT INFORMATION

The United FC Director, along with other United FC Rush Competitive Coaches, will lead the 2024-2025 team formation and tryout process. It is important to note that current United FC Rush players are constantly being evaluated throughout their current season. Current players can think of tryouts as a “team placement period.” The goal of tryouts and team formation is always to continue to place players on appropriate teams where their game can best be developed.

PLAYER PLACEMENTS

Every year in late July, soccer clubs conduct their annual tryouts to place players on a team based on their abilities. Those tryouts take hundreds of man hours to look at hundreds, possibly thousands of players in a short period of time. While majority of the players receive a tryout offer email and are placed appropriately, some may fall through the cracks, some cannot attend these tryouts, and some could be too nervous to show their true ability.

When we look at the athletes, we measure their technical and tactical abilities along with their physical and psychological attributes. A tryout period does not always allow us to fully rate players accurately. For these reasons, players will be observed throughout the entire year by their team Head Coach and Club Directors at training sessions and games. This process also us to more accurately within the Rush system. Evaluations will be based on the previously mentioned components in addition to attendance, attitude, team chemistry, and consistency, to name a few.

During any other time of the year, a Rush player may be asked to transfer to another Rush team or to guest play with another team. As players are constantly developing, we want to do our best to make sure they are in the right environments. This process will always be done with the player in mind first and what is best for their development.
