The main goal of the assessments is to determine which player, belongs where. We try to have an elevated team at every age group. The only way to determine this is to have the players come in for assessments. We do recognize that no assessment process is perfect.
U9-U19 players are structured in divisions. Your player will be part of a TCSL tiered structured league that accommodates all levels of play.
The goal is to find a place for the player that best suits the player’s ability. For example, putting an advanced player on a Blue team (lowest TCSL league level u9-10). The player may get disheartened because she/he isn’t being challenged and vise versa. Putting a child on a Red team (highest TCSL league team u9-10) that is not up to the higher standard, will cause the child to be put off playing the game of soccer and may become alienated by the rest of the players (not passing to her/him, not wanting to play because of the risk she/he might make mistakes etc). Both these situations will incur the child to have a negative soccer experience and that is not what we at United FC Rush want.
United FC Rush wants to offer the best experience possible for your child. By having assessments we are able to use our experience to place your child on a team that best suits their needs. United FC Rush is formed on the basis of soccer for all. We are not doing this to turn players away.
Our staff along with the Competitive Director will oversee the tryout process. Tryouts will be scored by a combination of objective evaluators and United FC Rush staff members.
If you have questions regarding tryouts or are unable to attend contact:
Kelly Taylor
