About

YCOT Staff primarily work within our Recreational Program, Developmental Academy Program, at Camps/Clinics, and occasionally within our U9/10 Competitive Program. Through this program, YCOT Staff are able to pass down their soccer knowledge to the next generation, and build bonds with our younger players, effectively strengthening community and improving the quality of education for our youngest ages. YCOT Staff also provide support to parent coaches in the Recreational Program, making it easier for parent coaches that may not have soccer experience.

YOUTH COACHES OF TOMORROW

program roles

There are multiple roles and responsibilities in the YCOT program:

united fc rush YCOT PLEDGE

I understand that the players I work with look up to me, and that families expect a positive, responsible, role model for their player(s). Therefore I must be Caring, Considerate, Conscientious, and Communicative:

Caring

  • I will work to make decisions that are responsible.
  • I will work to elicit a positive effect on the players I work with, and my co-workers.
  • I will work to improve my own empathy for others.

Considerate

  • I will think about how my actions affect others outside myself.
  • I will provide a positive mentorship to players.
  • I will work hard to be an active teacher, and make sure that I am providing young players with great learning experiences.

Conscientious

  • I will work to improve myself as an individual
  • I will treat all players and co-workers with respect.

Communicative

  • I will read all messages and emails sent by the program.
  • I will answer emails asap within a 24 hour period.
  • I will communicate with Directors and teams when I will be absent.
  • I will give notice of absence or change in schedule no later than 24 hours in advance unless there is an emergency.
  • I will work to resolve any conflicts with respectful communication and discussion.

  • What do sessions look like?

    Rec

For the Rec progam our sessions follow a Play-Practice-Play (PPP) Model.

    1. Players arrive to training and play pick up soccer with their own groups for 10 minutes.

    2. Players all come together and participate in Soccer Challenges, led by YCOT Staff, and experienced parent coaches for 15 minutes.

    3. Players go back to their groups and participate in the Soccer IQ activity of the day Led by thir group's parent coach, and supported by YCOT staff for 15 minutes.

    4. Groups end with a scrimmage for 20 minutes. (two 10 min halves, or four 5 min quarters)

    DA

Led by U10 and Younger Director of Coaching, expereinced parent coaches, and YCOT staff. Sessions will follow a linear progression similar to the competitive program. Sessions are sent out by the Director of Coaching.

  • What is the time commitment?

We do expect YCOT staff to prioritize work, since this is a job. However we also understand and respect that other commitments may arise such as conflicting matches, homework, and other responsibilites. As long as you communicate with Directors when you will be absent, it is ok to not make every single session for a program you are working.

  • What ages would you be working with?

YCOT Staff and Mentors primarily work with ages 10 and under.

  • Is this is a paid position?

Yes, YCOT staff members are paid for their time. YCOT staff are expected to take working for the program as seriously as they would treat working at any other job. For questions regarding wage, reach out to: Operations@unitedfcrush.com. (Must be ages 13 or older to be eligible for payment)

  • What is the difference between Rec and Developmental Academy?

Our Rec program is led by volunteer parent coaches and YCOT staff. Many parent coaches don't have soccer experience, so YCOT staff supports them, and Leads teams when Parent coaches aren't available.

Developmental Academy (DA) programming is for U7/U8 kids only and is a more advanced program run by experienced parent coaches and supported by YCOT staff.
